In-floor Storage
There is a very deep and generously sized locker located in the floor of the pantry. It is 60cm deep, and if you just pile stuff at the bottom, it is very difficult to get to.
IKEA has a bin called FILUR, parts number 201.938.99:

The bin comes with a lid, but you can just discard the lid altogether. Two FILURs fit just right, so that you can lift both out if you move them a little:

That way you can stack them full, lift them up and get what you need, without having to be stuck head-down-bottom-up for god knows how long.
Trash
I spent quite some time searching for a couple of trash bins that would fit the large drawer opposite the pantry, but I did not find anything good. Those that did fit were usually much smaller than the drawer, thus a lot of space was wasted.
The closest I found were the IKEA HÅLLBAR 10L bins number 803.980.58:

However the problem with them is that they are about 6mm too high without the lid and will not fit under the shelf that is inside the drawer compartment.
The solution was to move the shelf a little. The shelf has locks, which are mounted into pins and then closed with a screwdriver. To get the shelf to move about 1cm higher, you can lift it up a little, close the locks and just let it rest on the pins:

At least on my boat the shelf is quite tightly wedged in there, so it is definitely not going anywhere whether it is locked in place or not. After that two HÅLLBAR bins fit perfectly. Moving the carrying handle down gives a snug sideways fit as well:

The bins have frames for the bags, which prevents the bags from poking up and catching on the shelf. As a final bonus the bins can also be used as a bucket.
